SWEET AND SPICY MEATBALLS


SWEET AND SPICY MEATBALLS

Sauce
1 cup red hot jalapeno jelly
2/3 cup apple juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 pounds store-bought fully cooked meatballs

directions
Heat meatballs according to the instructions on the package.

Sauce
In large saucepan, mix all sauce ingredients.  Cook over medium heat 2-3 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. 

Add meatballs to sauce; stir to coat. Cook over medium-low heat 5-7 minutes until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.

Heat meatballs
(I like Italian seasoned)

heat according to the instructions on package
(thoroughly heated in center)


In a large saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients


stirring constantly until thickened


Add meatballs to sauce, stir to coat.  Reduce heat to med- low for 5-7 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.


Note:  If planning to make a large amount for a party, I would place heated meatballs in a chafing dish and cover with the sauce and gently stir to coat.  Keep heat on low and they will be just right by the time your guests arrive.
